• Entering the park is at your own risk.
  • Guests must keep to the roads and paths at all times.
  • Parents and supervisors of children and/or groups are responsible for those visiting the park under their supervision. They are expected to supervise the children and/or group themselves. Children up to 12 years of age are only allowed to visit Apenheul under the supervision of an adult.
  • People who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be denied entrance to the park or removed from the park without reimbursement of costs.
  • We kindly ask our guests to wear suitable clothing. Guests are not permitted to go bare-chested (even on warm days).


  • Luring, stroking and feeding the animals is not permitted at Apenheul. It is also strictly forbidden to throw items at the animals and/or in the enclosures.
  • Guests must use a bag that can be closed properly with a zipper to take belongings into the park. You can borrow a special '100% monkey-free bag' in the park. Apenheul’s staff is permitted to check your bag(s).
  • Pets are not permitted in order to prevent risk of infection and fear responses between animals. This also applies to guide and assistance dogs. Apenheul does not offer any possibility to temporarily take care of pets brought along.

Items brought to the park

  • Wheeled transport – such as skateboards, children’s bikes, scooters and roller skates – is not permitted. Prams and pushchairs, as well as wheelchairs and walking frames, are an exception to this. Electric wheelchairs are only allowed to travel at walking pace to ensure safety.
  • Selfie sticks may not be used in areas where primates walk freely.
  • Radios and other audio devices may not be used. These may cause nuisance to other guests, animals or staff members.
  • The possession of weapons and other dangerous objects is forbidden.

Photography and film

  • Taking photographs and making video recordings at Apenheul is permitted, but only for personal use. This may not cause any hindrance to other guests, animals or staff members of Apenheul.
  • Professional photography and recordings for commercial use are only permitted after written permission of Apenheul’s PR department.
  • Apenheul would like to point out that there is camera surveillance in the park to protect the safety and possessions of Apenheul and its guests.

Damage and liabilities

  • We only accept liability in those cases in which a shortcoming occurs that can be attributed to Apenheul and/or its staff members.
  • Any damage must be reported immediately so that it can be noted by one of our staff members on-site. Apenheul is not liable in any way whatsoever for any damage if the notification takes place after leaving Apenheul.

Play equipment

  • All play equipment meets the legally mandated requirements. The use of the play equipment is entirely at the own risk of Apenheul’s guests. 

Promotion or selling

  • Promoting or selling services and/or products at Apenheul is not permitted without written permission from Apenheul’s management.


  • Access to Apenheul is only permitted with a valid entry ticket or season ticket. This entry ticket or season ticket must be shown to one of Apenheul’s staff members when entering the park.
  • The management reserves the right to close (a part of) Apenheul or limit further access for visitors. Reasons can be: large crowds or a dangerous situation.
  • Season tickets remain the property of Apenheul. They can be taken back if the holder behaves inappropriately or uses the ticket wrongly (for example by using a different name).
  • Apenheul’s staff members are authorised to remove people from the park who oppose these park regulations or do not observe them, without these persons being entitled to compensation. This also applies when disruptive behaviour or physical or verbal abuse is shown towards other guests or staff members.
