Facilities
Good to know
On this page you will find all information about the facilities in our park.
Everywhere in Apenheul, you can pay by debit card or mobile phone. At many locations in the park, paying with Apenheul credit (for sale in our webshop or at the entrance) is possible. And at some locations you can also pay in cash.
Near our toilets in the park is an area to nurse your baby. Want to pump or feed? Then report to our visitors' reception at the entrance to Apenheul. Our staff will then help you.
There are first aid posts at several places in Apenheul. There are also several AEDs in our park. The exact locations can be found on the map. In urgent cases, you can of course always speak to one of our staff members.
Lockers are available at the entrance to Apenheul. You can use these free of charge. You will need a 1 euro coin as a deposit (which you will get back after use).
At Apenheul, you can use WiFi and/or KPN hotspots all throughout the park.
Apenheul is accessible for wheelchair users, except for the primate tree top walk (number 20 on the map) and the bridge in king colobus and talapoin area. Please note that Apenheul is a hilly park.
Apenheul itself does not have wheelchairs, but a limited number of wheelchairs can be borrowed at the entrance to Park Berg & Bos (opposite the car park). You pay a €1 deposit, which you get back after returning them. Unfortunately, it is not possible to reserve wheelchairs.
Visitors with disabilities are welcome at Apenheul. However, no discount is granted on entrance tickets for them or their companions. We advise visitors with specific accessibility questions to consult our website in advance or contact us.
Apenheul is a very unique park where visitors enter areas with free-roaming primates. Therefore, dogs are not allowed inside our park to protect the wellbeing of both the animals and the visitors. To still offer visitors who are dependent on a service dog a chance to visit Apenheul, we offer the chance for them to bring in one handler with them for free. The visitor can purchase a regular entry ticket through our webshop and present this on the day itself, along with an official service dog certificate and proof of identity to grant a free entry for one guardian.
You’ll find bathrooms at multiple locations in Apenheul: close to the entry/exit and near all our food & beverage outlets. Adapted bathrooms and rooms for nursery are also available at every location. The exact locations of all bathrooms can be found on the park map.
Only when you are in possession of a valid disability parking ticket (“gehandicaptenparkeerkaart”) you are able to park at one of the 12 extra spacious parking spots. These can be found at the front of car park P1 and P2 of the municipal parking lot, right across the entrance of Park Berg & Bos on the J.C. Wilslaan.
